INLAND OASIS

Will be for rent soon!

The space that is currently the Inland Oasis Community Center did not come with a commercial kitchen.  However, it has long been a goal of Inland Oasis to be able to provide meals for our neighbors, as well as host events and fundraisers in our own facility.  Therefore, we began working on converting a section of the space into a commercial kitchen.  It is far from complete, but with the support and generosity of our community, we can make this dream a reality.
Having a commercial kitchen will allow us to:
  • Host cooking classes and record demo videos.
  • Use to prepare free community meals.
  • Rent to small businesses so that they can prepare their products in a licensed commercial kitchen.
  • Make available to local growers to process what they grow - some products will go onto the shelves of the West Side Food Pantry, but the grower will take home the lion’s share.
  • Use to sort, dehydrate, and preserve food brought in from Backyard Harvest for distribution.
  • Rent in conjunction with our Great Room for events.
  • Use to enhance our own events and gatherings.

We acknowledge that Inland Oasis is located on the ancestral homelands of the Nimiipuu (Nez Perce) and Schitsu’umsh (Coeur d’Alene) tribes.  We acknowledge that the region in which we live is named after the Palus (Palouse) tribe, who refused to cede their land and were wiped out by the US Government. We acknowledge the tribal history here, and work to respect their ancestors, as well as the diverse and vibrant Native communities who make their home here today.
